At ECO-Choice Spring Water, LLC, we are committed to being a part of the solution to climate change, not a part of the problem.
An estimated 60 billion polyethylene terephthalate (PET, the most common type of plastic used in the manufacturing of disposable beverage containers) water bottles are used in the United States annually, with 82% of them ending up in landfills – where they remain for a period of time scientists haven’t yet agreed upon. Some estimates are as high as more than 500 years due to the lack of exposure to air and sunlight which would possibly allow the process of decomposition. Even with the entry of "biodegradable" plastics, the Air and Waste Association claims they may just simply disintegrate into smaller pieces, remaining a part of our environment for an undetermined amount of time.
Besides the problem of bottles in landfills, the amount of plastics present in the Pacific Ocean known as the "Plastic Continent" or "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" is staggering. A mass twice the size of Texas, the garbage contains 80% plastic, much of which comes in the form of water bottles from the shore.
While our changing, growing and expanding world won’t be made perfectly compatible with the earth overnight, we, as a company, you as an individual and collectively us, as a community, can make a difference by minimizing our own carbon footprint.
The choice in earth-friendly water containers is simple – ECO-Choice.
